Diana Solomon-Glover’s artistic talents, showcased on the operatic stage, in concert, oratorio, recital, musical theater, cabaret, and on radio and television across the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Central America, have long served humanitarian and social efforts.
She joins composer Carlos Castro as a librettist this June to create a short piece for 96-Hour Opera Project, Atlanta Opera’s initiative to develop works by artists from historically underrepresented communities.
Hearty congratulations to our Community Engagement Department, including Key Change co-hosts Andrea Fellows Fineberg and Anna Garcia, and producer-extraordinaire Andrea Klunder!
Solomon-Glover balanced Carter’s setting of Hamer’s actual speeches and singing with poetic approximation and imagined conversations.
Dr. Everett McCorvey conducts the workshop rehearsal of THE BOY FROM TROY, a piece about the life of Congressman John R. Lewis.
The development of THE BOY FROM TROY received funding from OPERA America's IDEA Opera Grants program, supported by the Charles and Cerise Jacobs Charitable Foundation.
